Boone Chapter Coordinator

My name is Dee Thomas and I live in Linville, North Carolina. From 2000 Р2007 I was the Director of the Adaptive Ski Program at the Beech Mountain Ski Resort. I also worked with Alpine Towers as a Universal Facilitator and instructed 3-day adaptive climbing workshops on climbing walls and ropes courses throughout the USA. I was excited and proud to be invited to volunteer for 2 adaptive Grand Canyon River Trips with Colorado Discover Ability out of Grand Junction, Colorado.. My climbing background also included being a rock climbing specialist for the NC Outward Bound School a well as creating and, for several years, directing a summer camp rock climbing program in Telluride, Colorado.  After 7 years of being the Director of Outdoor Programs at Lees-McRae College, I am currently an adjunct instructor for the college teaching Rock Climbing and, beginning in the fall I will also be instructing the new Adaptive Adventure Recreation class. I have volunteered for Catalyst for 4 years and am currently the Regional Director for the Charlotte and Boone, NC Chapters. I enjoy sharing my love for the outdoors with people of all abilities through adaptive paddling, snow skiing, and climbing and I really love a good cup of coffee with half and half in the mornings.
