The Freedom of Floating
Our adaptive kayaking program allows you to get out on the water and experience the maximum amount of independence while soaking in the sights and sounds of nature.
Our lead kayak instructors are trained in ACA Adaptive Paddling and have the ability to adapt the kayaks with additional equipment to accommodate a variety of needs. With programs located in Atlanta and Knoxville we are able to provide access to the Tennessee River as well as the Chattahoochee.
To take part in our adaptive kayaking program we require kayakers to meet the following:
ACA Essential Eligibility Criteria for Adaptive Kayaking
Paddler should be able to breathe independently (i.e., not require medical devices to sustain breathing)
Paddler can maintain sealed airway passages while under water
Paddler can hold head upright without neck / head support
Paddler can manage personal care independently or with assistance from a companion
Paddler can manage personal mobility independently or with a reasonable amount of assistance
