150 Miles. 24 Veterans. 2 States.

We did it! Twenty-four veterans completed the entire Silver Comet Trail adventure—all the way from Atlanta, Georgia to Alabama and back—during Catalyst Sports’ three-day, 150 mile VetsCycle ride. It was a chance to put months of training into practice while building teamwork, confidence, and community along the way.

And trust us, the weekend gave us plenty of opportunities to practice all three.

If it could happen, it did. There were slips and falls, crashes, multiple flat tires, warped wheels, stripped crank arms, rain, and more than a few moments when the miles felt especially long. Someone even woke up late and nearly missed the ride.

But every challenge was met the same way: together.

When a bike needed fixing, someone stepped in. When a rider needed encouragement, someone was there. When things didn’t go according to plan, the group adapted, kept moving, and made sure no one faced the challenge alone.

There were conversations in the hotel bike room, visits to Cave Spring, shared meals, and an unforgettable karaoke night at the American Legion. After the final miles were behind us, the group celebrated with lunch, ice cream, and an awards ceremony.

But the real reward was about veterans supporting veterans and creating a community where people know someone will be there to lend a hand, fix a bike, offer encouragement, or remind them they’re not alone.

That spirit is exactly what the Catalyst Sports Veteran's Initiative is all about.
