Southeast  Paraclimbing Competition

Saturday December 7th, 2024

Whether you are an experienced climber or new to the sport, this regional competition is a great opportunity to compete against other adaptive climbers and a chance to gain competition experience prior to entering National Level events.

 

Register to compete under one of the six categories. Anyone under 16 is eligible for the Youth open category. If you have a question about the categories or are unsure of your eligibility please contact us.

Please note: In order to compete, climbers should be able to climb independently on a loose belay, and unassisted by side climbers or the Wellman harness.

Entry Fee:

Thanks to the Dralla Foundation, we are able to offer a reduced registration rate of $25. 

 

Paraclimbing Categories: Visual Impairment, Neurological / Physical Disability (R/P), Upper Extremity Amputee, Lower Extremity Amputee, Seated, Youth (Under 16 on day of competition).

Competition Format: Each category will have 3 routes to try. The climber can try each route as many times as they would like. The highest score of each route is taken. The score is counted by points marked at specific holds. Results will be determined during the main round and medals will be awarded before finals.

Optional Finals Round

After the main competition, there will be a finals round, which will be open to all competitors but is also optional. For this round, climbers will only have one attempt at each route. This will simulate the environment at Paraclimbing Nationals Finals.

Hotel Accommodation for Climbers

We are able to cover the cost of one hotel room on Saturday December 7th for any registered climbing competitors. Competitors may be asked to share a hotel room with another climber. When you register for the comp, please indicate if you will be requiring a hotel room. The rooms will all be within the same hotel at a location near the climbing gym. 

Climbers must register by October 30, 2024 to guarantee a hotel room for Saturday night. 

 

Volunteers:

We are looking for volunteers to help with this comp. Belay certification is not required to sign up as a volunteer, but certification at Central Rock Gym will be required before the start of the comp. 10am-11am: Volunteer Registration

12pm: Rules briefing
12:15pm: Competition start
4:15pm: Competition end
5pm: Medal ceremony
5:45pm: Finals competitors go to isolation
6:00pm: Optional finals round begins
